We have been retained to conduct a Search by our client, one of the UK’s top 150 Food companies. They are a young and dynamic chilled food business, and have become recognised as one of the UK’s most innovative foodservice manufacturers. Listing major high street retailers and contact caterers as long term customers, where they have have achieved exceptional growth. This dramatic growth has led to the demands for a new role, dedicated to driving strategy and direction across its National Logistics function.
Reporting to the Logistics Director you will manage and develop procedures and controls to ensure service levels are met company wide, across a number of regional distribution centres. Managing all despatch and distribution functions where you will evaluate current procedure, implementing and developing strategy to maintain and surpass current performance standards.
As a key part of the company’s senior management team you will report to the board and work toward achieving budgetary expenditure and group strategy targets. A key contributor to group strategy you will drive and develop your team, setting clear objectives. Promoting best practice at all times.
You will be a proven Logistics Manager and must have a working knowledge of Chilled Foods, coupled with a genuine flair for man management and an ability to achieve results under pressure. An individual who achieves set goals with minimal disruption to customer or internal functions, through a mix of personal ownership, team leadership and training. Used to developing and implementing key performance indicators for a department, you will ensure appropriate measures and improvement plans are in place.
Assuming responsibility and managing critical paths for key projects within the function, such as transfer of routes or introduction of new customers.
